This charming book is a must have for dog lovers. As anyone with a dog knows, our four-legged friends are more than just pets, but family. I noticed, and this holds true for every picture in the book, that the compassion and devotion between dog and owner is beautifully captured. The variety of pictures is amazing and the antique quality offers viewers a blast from the past. I felt like I was looking through a family's photo album because the pictures all seemed so personal and unique. If I ever need a pick me up, I flip through this book and immediately feel a bit more cheery. This book came out in perfect time for the holidays. It will make the perfect gift!
This is a cute little gift book featuring vintage photo booth pictures of dogs, and in some cases dogs with their owners. If you like old photos and doggies, you'll enjoy this book. Some of the images are super blurry, which is disappointing, but I think all dog lovers will enjoy it.
The book consists of a collection of old photo booth pictures of dogs (though a cat picture was snuck in there, too!).
I am sure the editor had to go through hundreds more pictures, before choosing the published selection. And I highly appreciate the outcome. These pictures are truly unique, beautiful and expressive.
Dog lovers know that dogs act (and look) like their owners' inner selves. These still pictures prove this, and tell a lot of stories of love, innocence, playfulness, and curiosity. Also the occasional mischief demeanor!
Some quotes are thrown around in the midst of the the pictures, but they do not fill the void left by the lack of any background information about the photos or the dogs. I understand that the photos speak for themselves...that's the cornerstone of this book's premise. I also understand how difficult it is to obtain information about random photos from 70-80 years ago. But the effort would have been much appreciated, ..and in my opinion, would have provided a much-needed prospective to enrich the book.
In short a very nice one-nighter reading, while rubbing your furry friend, curled by your side.
This book is cute and has some great pictures but is shorter than I thought it would be- expected more pictures
Full of a great old photos and dogs and their people. Pretty nifty to have around to look at now and then.
