A collection of extreme horror...YES PLEASE!! This was a fantastic read. It has many wonderful authors that contributed to it. The variety within the pages kept me interested the whole way through.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure nearly all of these stories were rejected because they're poorly-written stories.

Some examples

"In a super conservative school like Liberty Heights where ninety per cent of the male population sported short back and sides hairstyles, and the females were generally supposed to conform to a specific skirt length, without being even an inch shorter than regulations, the new girl stood out like a w***e in a convent."

"The pale pink infant was swaddled in rough fabric, the same material making up her dress and the shawl that covered her head, which hid her face from the man until he departed."

"Her skin had taken on an iridescence never seen in mammals."

"He wanted to **** her. Just like every single, other red-blooded guy in the place, unless they were inclined to harbour homosexual tendencies and no doubt, there were a few of those. repressing their desires to stay aligned with the moralistic conservative attitudes of the school"

"Then, as drunken Dom, who having given up on trying to charm the allegedly sluttier girls in attendance now blatantly suggested they all suck his ****, struck out once more and received an upturned drink over his head, Austin saw all of them, one after another.

The text is riddled with misspelled words and basic grammatical errors. It's pretty obvious that these stories did not receive even a cursory proofread. It's not for me, but it should be a fantastic read for people who enjoy crappy writing.
These anthologies are hard to rate and review. I am more of a novel reader. That being said, I enjoyed several of the stories in here. Some were quite weird and over the top. All the stories were rejected by other publishers or what not, adding the rejection letters was a nice touch.

The Perfect Woman by Kerry G.S. Lipp (Weird fetish!)
Lust Among the Reefs by Matthew Arkham (Sea creature, sex, don't even ask!)
Rendezvous by Stuart Keane (He never disappoints, awesome author.)(A cheater, the ultimate revenge, yea.)
There Goes the Neighborhood by Jim Goforth (Another brilliant author.) (Gotta love it when bullies get what's coming to them!)

4 out of 5 stars for some great stories and the added bonus of having the rejection letters.

This book was nothing short of BORING!!!! There may have been a story or two that was mediocre, at best, but mostly they just stunk. The one or two mediocre stories are already lost on me because when I try to remember them, I draw a blank because they were not memorable, AT ALL!!! A lot of these weren't rejected because of the vivid writing. They were mostly rejected because the writer submitted their story to an anthology or magazine that had nothing to do with "extreme horror" or "splatterpunk." Also, some stories were rejected because they simply weren't any good. I'd take a pass on this anthology!!!
The stories aren’t even that good. Some are, but most weren’t.
This book was a page tuner. I loved that they included the rejection letters, most of them made me laugh. I am now going to buy the second book . ^^

Not what I was expecting from this book. Some stories are good and others are not good at all. Besides the nit picking on some grammar and punctuation marks on some of the stories. Some aren't even scary at all just rejected because the content was to weird or way out there.
